Gambling and betting law

The laws covering gambling and betting in Spain are complicated. It is necessary to have an in-depth understanding of the regulation and to follow it to the letter to be able to do business in this field. The rules have recently been changed in Spain since the enactment of the Royal Decree on Commercial Communications for Gambling Activities.

One of the main reasons why gambling is regulated in Spain, both online and in betting shops, is to protect those who wish to bet. The industry has been growing exponentially in recent years, and sadly, some operators have been taking advantage of gaps in the law.

The gambling industry requires a range of specialised services, most importantly the advice and guidance of lawyers specialised in advising and defending the interests of operators in their relations with public administrations and third parties.
